The Fifthy Shades of Blue in Misool

Love Pool at Balbulol
Misool is a true paradise known to most. The michelin of nature and underwater. Home to over quarter of the world’s marine life. Blue water in many shade, from deep blue to light turquoise. All is framed with amazical untouched raw nature of limestone with thin green of vegetation. Being here made me feel like the first person stepped down to earth. It’s so quiet. Just us, the sound of wild bird chirping and the voice inside my head. 7 days in Misool is a real exhilaration. Everyday beautiful places. Second to none!

Balbulol

I’d say… my most favorite place in Misool. It’s a giant lego of natural world. Quite amazing as everything seems to be carved and arranged carefully. Huge limestone wall on the side, as if there’s secret to hide inside. It is!! My eyes were on stalk of the magical view up front. Clear blue water teasing me with the sight of coral gardens and colorful fishes. Floating giant rocks in the shape of christmas trees, got me wonder of the natural process happened to this place. It’s looked like a men made, but for sure it wasn’t!

A regret slided in to my head watching my friends preparing their dive gear. This is one of must-dive spot in Misool. My diving friends couldn’t stop talking about the experience passing that underwater window and how beautiful it is down there. As for me, I’m happy enough with coral watching and play with those little colorful fishes.

Yapap

The best natural pool!! white sandy beach with  (again!!) light turquoise water.  What make it like a playground is all the stone has unique shape. It depends on where our imagination goes. Some shaped like a tortoise, camel, love shaped. Not only amazed with the scenery, we also couldn’t help ourselves to jump down to the water like nothing else matter.

Dapunlol

No pain no gain. Every time i googled Raja Ampat, there are picturesque aerial view of the islands that dropped my jaw.  In Misool, Dapunlol is the spot to get that kind of view. Yet, the track is not easy. It is 45 degree elevated karst mountain with rough path. We can only walk slowly as plenty of sharp edges all along and slippery base. But it’s worth the view! Once in a life time.

Panon Village

Most of the places in Misool comes with no shade, as they are karst without only small vegetation. Direct sun exposure is my everyday theme. Choice is either i get burnt on the boat or stay in the water and enjoy the scenery down there. So, I was very happy when Ali the boat man dropped us to Panon. One amongst the few island offers shade and green luscious garden. Bonus point, the local are very friendly serving us hot ginger tea and fried banana. Yeaaa.. banana!!!

Teluk Tomolo Cave: the holy cave

I didn’t expect Misool is a quite religious muslim district. Where it began started at this Telok Tomolo Cave. The local call it Holy Cave or “Goa Keramat”. Legend said a man sailed from Banda to Misool district for mission. He stranded at this cave, decided to build the base and later being buried in here. The locals visited this cave during important muslim holiday or when they want to search for blessing.

Lenmakana Lake & The Stingless Jellyfish

Bikini Bottom is not the only safe place to swim with jelly fish. You can also jump into Lenmakana Lake and immerse your self with thousand of stingless jelly fish there. They are trapped in the pre-historic era. The sting has gone as there’s no enemy exist. As they are now harmless, we have to be friendly too. Be gentle cuz they are fragile creatures.
