Bring The Pride of Authentic Indonesia at World Street Food Congress Singapore

World Street Food Congress - Singapore ( 8-12 April 2015): With Mbak Vivi from Ayam Taliwang Bersaudara & Jeffrey Sie from Gudeg Yu Nap: two Indonesian culinary heroes who amazed the visitors with their striking sambal. And yesss... we got BIG media coverage!

One big milestone I’ve done this year. Running an event in Singapore last April.I brought 4 Indonesian’s food hawker with the hope to gain massive exposure in World Street Food Congress. I’m sure you all agree with me, it is time for Indonesian’s culinary to shine and Indonesian be proud of promoting it to the world outside.  Often we criticized our own heritage in a harder way than other people would do.  Do you hear this often: …I’m not sure you’ll like it. It’s too spicy for you! Then when we go to what so called “Indonesian’s authentic restaurant”, we taste the spices is toned down. A quite sad fact. But it’s true.

MIKA - Jakarta Live Concert 2013

Lirik sedih dengan musik ceria. Mika tahu cara menghibur orang!!! Sometimes, we just need a right song to celebrate life. Be it up or down…. especially when we're down!. Benar sekali.. justru pas lagi mellow biasanya kita perlu suntikan lagu-lagu yang bikini kita semangat lagi. Untunglah belakangan ini saya jarang setel lagu Mika. Means, life is good so far.. hahaha. But I consider Mika's song as life's best friend. And I jump yeayyy when Nessi called me and told me she's got 2 free ticket for me in the front row. Awesomeness!!!

Surprise didn't stop here. Last minute, tim Close Up telpon lagi dan kasih tahu kalau ada tiket VIP buat saya. Langsung jingkrak-jingkrak dehh. Walaupun syaratnya harus beliin mereka KFC 8 piring. Easy 

Di panggung, Mika tampil simple tapi mengesankan! Dalam artian, panggung nggak ditata macam-macam. Hanya perlengkapan band, piano dan latar polkadot. Mungkin maksudnya mereka ingin lebih menonjolkan penampilan gaya Mika. Begitu si artis muncul.. perhatian kita langsung tertuju pada sepatu keds bling bling dengan sol merah dan crew yang mengikat kain merah di lengan. Saya sudah coba google cari tahu apakah ada arti khusus. Sayang info-nya belum ketemu :(.
